While the Sweet Pea books were not written with a specific charity in mind, childhood poverty and food insecurity have been issues that have concerned me for some time. So, it just so happens that I wrote a series of books whose main characters are beans and peas. However, making a charitable donation to a food bank with each purchase of a food-based book makes perfect sense.
