Yellowjacket

Poems & Spoken Word

The poems in Yellowjacket were written almost a decade before Suburban Zen, and I believe they offer some insight on my perspective in the latter collection.

I was not a homeowner. I was not a father or a husband, and I was dealing with some significant disappointment. In other words, I had exactly what I needed to achieve something special.

The following is a selection of the poems that are included in this chapbook:

  • Drift Away
  • A Party I’m Not Interested In
  • Feeding Fish
  • Down
  • Yellowjacket
  • Walk on Water
  • Perfect
  • Illegal Move
  • Swimming through a Crowd
  • Dust
  • Quiet
  • Girlfriend from NYC
  • Sunrise
  • Borrowed Furniture
  • Achieve
  • Suffering
