Scrutiny Books

Short Stories, Poetry & More

Scrutiny Books is a private collection, which was started after a night of dreams. The imprint’s namesake appeared in cursive script across a stack of glossy magazines. Upon waking, I performed a search for the name and discovered that Scrutiny was the name of a British review and that Aldous Huxley, the author who first inspired my writing ambitions, was a subscriber.

Scrutiny was first an online journal but has evolved into a personal imprint, home for a somewhat eclectic collection of writings (e.g., Inferno, Suburban Zen & Yellowjacket). At this time, these works are in various stages of editing or rewrite and are not for sale.

If you’re reading Scrutiny, you’re under it.
