Scrutiny Books

Novellas, Poetry & More

Scrutiny Books was started after a night of dreams. The namesake appeared in a cursive script across several glossy magazines. Upon waking, Justin Meckes learned that Scrutiny was the name of a journal that the author who inspired his ambitions, Aldous Huxley, was a subscriber.

Since then, Scrutiny has been an online journal and is now the personal imprint for Justin Meckes, a home for his personal collection of writings (e.g., Inferno & Suburban Zen). These works are not for sale at this time.

If you’re reading Scrutiny, then you’re under it.
