Fall Yellow

Fall yellow brightens the forest
trees like a candle’s flicker,

lighting up the wood. Brighter
than the distant sun, the

stars, witch hazel, and mustard-
colored goldenrod. Yellow straw

men marching through the
cornfields, butter, yolk, and

bumps on a gourd. Fall yellow
fills the forest, and the golden

leaves do the job now that the
Monarch butterflies are gone.

Success! You're on the list.

Listen to “Fall Yellow.”
